About this service:
A safe exterior clean suitable for maintaining a recently detailed vehicle wearing either sealant, wax or ceramic coating.
Using the most recent and effective chemicals, the wash process is carried out in the safest way possible (as of Mid 2025) to reduce the chance of wash marring and swirls as much as physically possible. No matter how careful you are during a wash process, minor marring is always inflicted. No wash process is perfect. If you want your paint to remain in fantastic condition it is so important to take every possible step to reduce the rate at which these marks accumulate.
Believe it or not more damage is done to paintwork while drying than washing. It is always safer for vehicles to be rinsed with de-ionised water (using a reusable water filter) and left wet as to avoid inducing unnecessary marring during the drying stage.
How is the wash carried out?
Before a hand wash is carried out it’s crucial to remove as much loose debris and traffic film as possible. This is why a pre-wash product is always applied and allowed to sit for up to 5 minutes. This process can remove a huge percentage of dirt on the vehicle.
After the pre-wash step is complete the wheels* are cleaned followed by a rinseless wash of the rest of the bodywork. A rinseless solution is a step-up in technology from car shampoo as shampoo is nowhere near as safe for automotive surfaces. Rinseless solutions offer far more lubrication than shampoo and have the added benefit of not having to be rinsed off the vehicle afterwards. This saves time and vastly decreases the chance of marring paintwork with subsequent drying steps.
The vehicle is then either dried using a drying aid (which adds lubrication to the towel and also tops up any protection currently on the vehicle). The vehicle can also be left wet after rinsing with filtered water. Tyres are then dressed and the service is complete.
*Unless specifically asked to do so by the client, barrels and backsides of wheels, along with inner wheel arches and door/boot shuts are not hand/brush cleaned but instead chemically treated and pressure rinsed to remove the majority of soiling. If you are wanting these areas deep cleaned this may require hours of additional work depending on the level of dirt and grime.
For vehicles that have not been recently detailed this process will most likely take longer due to accumulated contamination. Unfortunately time is money so the price for this service may be higher on such vehicles.
